The Ghost Rider
of Owley

Initial art print for a Dartmoor folklore fabrication about the previlence of mobile phone usage on horseback, particularly by teenagers around the southern edgelands.

The illustration depicts a spectral rider who haunts the lanes around the signal-deprived hamlet of Owley, below the Ugborough Beacon. The piercing glare from her handset has allegedly caused several minor motoring accidents. More disturbingly, the grotesque spectacle of her translucent horse has triggered acute post-traumatic episodes among those who claim to be witnesses. During flare-ups, those affected say they can see the musculoskeletal structures of the individuals around them, both human and animal. As a mitigating course, patients have taken to meeting loved ones via video call only, and insist that those on screen adorn themselves with a preparatory filter.
